Join MFA curators in an examiniation of the first painting Kahlo ever sold, Dos Mujeres (Salvadora y Herminia), in relation to her circle of artists, writers, and collectors active in Mexico City. The presentation offers an overview of recently donated works of art, archival material, and loans from the collection of Jackson Cole Phillips, the American collector who paid Kahlo 300 pesos for her painting, during what the artist described on the back of the canvas as “a most enjoyable evening.”

Enjoy a wine and cheese reception while continuing our discussion following the presentation.
