Curator Pam Parmal will lead a tour of the exhibition “Kenneth Paul Block: Illustrations.” Block, who worked for Women’s Wear Daily from the late 1950s until 1992, was one of the most influential fashion illustrators of the second half of the twentieth century. During his career he witnessed seismic changes in fashion, society, and women’s place in it. His deft hand and sensitivity to contemporary culture made him an exceptional chronicler of his time. The gallery tour will be followed by an opportunity to look at selections of the MFA’s extraordinary fashion illustration collection, which dates back to the late sixteenth century.
