Joseph D. Ketner, Henry and Lois Foster Chair in Contemporary Art, distinguished curator-in-residence, Emerson College; author

Who is Andy Warhol? When you hear his name, do you think Pop, Campbell’s Soup, Marilyn, art star, bohemian hipster, or high-society socialite? In the words of one of his friends, “Andy Warhol is as misunderstood as he is famous.” Ketner, author of three books on Warhol and creator of several Warhol exhibitions, addresses the paradoxical personality of the artist and the essence of his contribution to American art.
