What can art tell us about the meaning of family? How does art inform our experience and understanding of community? Inspired by the exhibition “(un)expected families,” explore how art engages with the idea of family and community. Our three sessions investigate ways in which artists have chosen to depict these themes, and ask how these strategies reflect the attitudes of different cultures and historical moments. How can these themes function as a catalyst in creating community?
