Legendary comics editor Françoise Mouly and writer Nadja Spiegelman are the mother-daughter team behind RESIST!, a groundbreaking new political comics zine of female and minority voices. Over the past year, they have harnessed the rage and despair of the current political moment into a collective creative endeavor, combining the democratic nature of the Internet to solicit work from all over the world with a grassroots network of volunteers and local comic books shops to distribute the printed product for free. They will show their process and the powerful works they have collected, as well as speak on the potency of political comics and graphics in defining our world and creating change.
Free copies of RESIST! will be available at the lecture. Supplies are limited, first come, first served.
