Since 1937, the MFA has owned an enigmatic 15th-century polyptych that reflects both Italian and Byzantine artistic traditions. Conservator Caitlin Breare and curator Frederick Ilchman offer behind-the-scenes access to their recent discoveries and future plans about this truly unique object, as well as the conservation treatment currently underway.
