Since 1976, The National Center for Jewish Film (NCJF) has rescued, restored, and exhibited films that document the diversity of Jewish life. Their annual festival is a vibrant program of new independent films and restored classics from around the world, with visiting filmmakers and scholars. This year’s festival includes Ran Tal’s The Museum, a lyrical new documentary showcasing the world behind the scenes at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem; Claus Raefle’s The Invisibles, a suspenseful true drama tracing the machinations of four young Jews hiding in plain sight in Berlin during WWII; and NCJF’s own new restoration of the 1937 Yiddish classic The Dybbuk, a mystical tale of star-crossed lovers and supernatural possession. The festival is curated by NCJF’s co-directors, Lisa Rivo and Sharon Pucker Rivo.
