As staff preparations ramp up over the summer, we will host a range of outdoor events on the MFA’s campus starting in September, including concerts and films in partnership with the Roxbury International Film Festival.
Please consider supporting the Museum, its art, and its programs with a gift to the MFA Fund.
Join us for a pop-up reading room viewing of contemporary women’s photobooks, in conjunction with International Women’s Day!
How We See: Photobooks by Women is a hands-on experience, set up so visitors can page through 100 books by a global selection of photographers. Organized by 10x10 Photobooks in New York City, the viewing is accompanied by a publication featuring all the books in the installation, available in the MFA’s Main Bookstore & Shop. Local university students, artists, and photography specialists lead talks for visitors each day.
Among the artists are Laia Abril, Ying Ang, Olivia Arthur, Sophie Calle, Xiaoyi Chen, Zoe Croggon, Cristina de Middel, Laura El-Tantawy, Abigail Heyman, Hannah Höch, Dragana Jurisc, Kristina Jurotschkin, Pixy Liao, Susan Meiselas, Zanele Muholi, Yurie Nagashima, Catherine Opie, Maya Rochat, Guadalupe Ruiz, Eva Saukane, Collier Schorr, Ketaki Sheth, Lieko Shiga, Dayanita Singh, Mitra Tabrizian, Carrie Mae Weems, among many others. See 10x10photobooks.org for more information.
