Amalia Pica’s performance sculpture Now Speak!, on view in the exhibition “Political Intent,” invites us to use our voices to activate art, create social space, and reinterpret history over time. Join Project Hope’s Ambassadors from the Speakers Bureau for their delivery of a historical speech, followed by stories of speakers’ rise out of poverty toward personal empowerment. The free 30-minute program offers local perspectives to homelessness in Boston and paths toward recovery. This event is part of a year-long partnership between the MFA and our neighbor in Roxbury, Project Hope, which since 1981 has supported low-income women and children to access housing, employment, education, and platforms for personal transformation and broader social change.

In partnership with Project Hope.
