Learn to take an idea or story and bring it to life with simple animation techniques. Explore and study the many methods through which animated films are made, from cartoons, morphing, abstraction, realism, and more! Class includes hands-on tutorials in character design, timing, and image capture. The class will also feature screenings of hard-to-find and influential short animated films.

About the Instructor

Alan Jennings is a graduate of the MFA program in experimental animation at California Institute of the Arts. His films have screened internationally at Animafest Zagreb, The Ottawa International Animation Festival, The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Films, and The Holland Animation Film Festival, among many others. Professional work includes short films produced for Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, The School of Life, and NPR.
