Increase your storytelling skills and design your own comic book and create fun characters and creatures! Learn the processes involved in professional character design for animation, movies, comics and children’s books and master new tools and techniques in drawing, lettering, and page design as you develop a narrative. Be inspired by various cultures and time periods from the MFA Collection and examine visual techniques from your favorite comics and graphic novels.

About the Instructor

Alan Jennings is a graduate of the MFA program in experimental animation at California Institute of the Arts. His films have screened internationally at Animafest Zagreb, The Ottawa International Animation Festival, The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Films, and The Holland Animation Film Festival, among many others. Professional work includes short films produced for Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, The School of Life, and NPR.
