This special evening begins with a visit to the 17th-century Dutch and Flemish paintings. You’ll view work that demonstrates how these artists’ passion for real flowers gave birth to a long tradition of painted ones. The instructor will discuss the paintings vivid realism that often combines flowers that bloom at different times of year. On our way to the studio, stop at Taste Café to pick up wine, coffee, or something cold to take with you to the art-space next door.
In the second hour, the instructor will introduce a painting demonstration and guide you as you create your own floral still life on canvas panel. Bring a friend or make a few as you discover some of the excitement of painting.
Supplies will be provided.
