Artful Adventures offers two specially designed home school programs for children ages 3 and older. The morning program meets the second Friday of each month from 10:30 am-12 pm during the school year. The afternoon program meets on Friday afternoons, September through June, from 1:30-3 pm. Children are divided into 4 groups by age (3-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-15 years). Each visit lasts an hour and a half and combines gallery exploration with an art-making activity.

Special arrangements can be made for home schooling groups of 10 or more children who are unable to visit the Museum on Fridays at 1:30 pm. To learn more, please visit Artful Adventures.

Tickets

bookmarkTo enroll your child in any of the Artful Adventures Home School classes, please click on the age group or class theme that you're interested in, and then click on "tickets" at the bottom of the event page. Although members receive free admission into the Museum, a paid course ticket is required for each child participating in the Artful Adventures Home School classes.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are only available online. Tickets for the current week's class will only be available for sale until 1 pm on Wednesday.

We no longer offer day-of ticket sales at the Museum. Tickets need to be purchased online in advance of each class date. Purchasing tickets ahead of time ensures that we can adequately prepare for each class by having enough teachers and materials and can maintain small group sizes.

Adult Chaperones

bookmarkOne adult chaperone is FREE with each purchased child ticket and also receives a discount on parking in Museum facilities. Additional adults $25.

Adults are always welcome to stay with their child throughout the duration of the class.

Class Cancellations, Snow Closings, and Refunds

bookmarkWe regret that there is no makeup or refund for classes missed by a child, even those due to inclement weather. Refunds are given only if the class is cancelled by the MFA. Each week a minimum of 8 children is required in order for a particular age group's class to run. Parents will be e-mailed by the end of the day on Wednesday if their child's class is cancelled due to low enrollment, and will have the opportunity to apply their child's ticket to a future class date.
