Directed by Stanley Kubrick (USA/UK, 1968, 161 min.). DCP.
Kubrick’s magnum opus takes us on a breathtaking voyage to discover our place in the universe. In an African desert millions of years ago, a black monolith appears, accelerating the evolution of early humans by transferring knowledge about the use of tools and weapons. Fast forward to the year 2001, when a similar black object is discovered on the face of the moon, sending astronauts Dave Bowman (Keir Dullea) and Frank Poole (Gary Lockwood) on an exploratory mission to Jupiter to seek its origin. In the far reaches of space, they discover so much more than they set out to find.
