From the curly locks of Alexander the Great to the neck-beard of the emperor Nero, this talk by guest lecturer Christopher Gilbert, will examine the history of hairstyles in the ancient world using busts, coins and other objects in the museum's collections. Close attention to these evolving fashions sheds light on important political and social changes in the ancient world.
