Join us for the 39th annual festival of art and floral design!

Once again, garden clubs and professional designers from across New England create floral arrangements inspired by the MFA’s works of art.

Art in Bloom is open during regular Museum hours (10 am–4:45 pm) and is free with Museum admission; no reservations are required to see the floral arrangements and participate in many of the programs listed below.

Tickets on sale February 26, 10 am.

Floral demonstration and illustrated lecture with Christian Tortu whose arrangements combine his love of nature with an East meets West aesthetic.

Julie Moir Messervy: A Tale of Two Masters: Celebrating the Restoration of Tenshin-en
Monday, April 27, 3–4 pm, Alfond Auditorium
Join Julie Moir Messervy in celebrating the re-opening of the MFA’s Japanese garden Tenshin-en, the Garden of the Heart of Heaven. Messervy explores the history and renovation of the garden which opened in 1988 and was restored and reopens Art in Bloom weekend.

Linda Clark and Jorge Padilla-Zamudio: Celebrate Japanese Spring with Ikebana
Saturday, April 25, 3–4 pm in Alfond Auditorium
East meets West in the art of Japanese flower design. Join Linda Clark and Jorge Padilla-Zamudio, co-presidents of Ikenobo Ikebana society of Boston, as they demonstrate Ikenobo Ikebana.
Free event ticket and Museum admission required.

Members’ Night
Saturday, April 25, 6–9 pm
Doors open at 5:30 pm
A members-only viewing of the MFA’s 39th Art in Bloom with tours, entertainment, shopping, and dining.
Admission based on membership privileges.

Family Day

Celebrate Art in Bloom with family-friendly programming and entertainment.

Dora Lee: Celebrate Japanese Spring with Ikebana
Sunday, April 26, 3–4 pm, Alfond Auditorium
Dora Lee, past president of the Boston Chapter of Ikebana International, demonstrates Sogetsu Ikebana, from basic to freestyle.
Free event ticket and Museum admission required.
