The opening of the highly anticipated exhibition “#techstyle” on March 5, 2016, coincides with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Fashion Council!

Exploring the synergy between fashion and technology, “#techstyle” draws upon the MFA’s collection of contemporary fashion which has been strengthened considerably over the past 10 years with Fashion Council support. Featuring key pieces from innovators in the field, the exhibition includes a digitally-printed dress from Alexander McQueen’s Plato’s Atlantis collection (Spring/Summer 2010/2011) and Iris Van Herpen’s 3-D printed dress (2013) produced in collaboration with MIT designer and assistant professor Neri Oxman. We will experience the cutting edge of hi-tech fashion with special commissions created by CuteCircuit, The Unseen, Hussein Chalayan, and Cambridge-based Nervous System.

The event planned for March 5 includes a reception, exhibition viewing, and seated dinner at the MFA for 400 Fashion Council Members and guests. This is an opportunity for us to host friends, promote the Fashion Council and support the MFA’s Department of Textile and Fashion Arts.

It is going to be a memorable night in Boston!
