New Museum Council Staff

Museum Council

Julie Crites has recently joined the Museum of Fine Arts as the new development officer overseeing the Museum Council Program.

Julie brings over ten years of experience in the arts and her background includes managing public programs and creating events for young professionals. Julie’s passion for working with our demographic began during her time at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum when she spearheaded the Museum's outreach efforts to attract and engage 18- to 34-year-olds through the creation of the evening event series, Gardner After Hours. During her time at the Gardner Museum, the event reached attendance highs of 1,000 people with 75% of the audience in the young professional demographic.

In her new role at the MFA, Julie aims to take her knowledge to further engage Boston’s young professionals. “I feel so incredibly honored to be working at the Museum of Fine Arts—it such an amazing cultural institution and one that I have loved ever since I was a child. For me, this is extraordinary opportunity to continue my work with an audience I deeply believe can make a difference. I am looking forward to creating channels for young arts enthusiasts, collectors, and future philanthropists to support the Museum and connect with it in a fresh and relevant way.”

In her free time Julie is brushing up on her Spanish in preparation for a trip to Spain this summer, launching a wine club with friends, and trying to figure out what to wear to this year’s Summer Party!
