The reading room at the MFA's William Morris Hunt Memorial Library is open by appointment, starting on January 2, 2023. Please fill out and submit this form to request an appointment.
Please provide the titles and call numbers of the books or materials you would like to view (up to 10 items). Refer to the library catalog.
Please note that all library materials are in-library use only and that many materials are stored off-site and not available without advance request.

Books in the reading room are for everyone’s use. Most items are in off-site locations. In order to view the items stored outside of the reading room, users must request a future research appointment with the library staff by visiting the library website.
Do not reshelve any materials.
All food items are prohibited in the reading room.
Water is permitted only in capped bottles.
Water bottles must be closed completely when not in use.
Users may use personal electronic devices for research and writing use.
Please be courteous to other users when using such devices.
Bags of any size and coats must be checked in upon entering the library.
Reading room tables should be free of any personal items including, but not limited to, writing utensils.
Scanners and photocopiers are available for research purpose only.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Users making reproductions are liable for any infringement. The library takes no responsibility for users who violate this policy.
Users who do not conform to the above policies shall be asked to leave.
