Morse Study Room Appointment Request

The Morse Study Room for Works on Paper provides access to the MFA’s collections of American and European prints, drawings, and photographs. The Study Room is open for individual study and groups of up to 15 people, including college classes. Available windows for individual and class appointments are Monday from 1:30 to 4 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to noon and 1:30 to 4 pm.

Please note: we only allow a maximum of 15 students at time. If your class has more students, you must request multiple visits with your class divided into two or more groups.
Please briefly share with us your research purpose, class assignment or topic, or other goals for this visit, and why consulting works on paper in the MFA collection is important for your research or classroom needs.

List the accession numbers of the works on paper that you wish to view. Refer to our collections search to assist you in finding the corresponding accession numbers, and inform your selection.

Examples of accession numbers: 2006.1441, 65.1295, or M19777

The Morse Study Room is open Mondays from 1:30 to 4 pm and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to noon and 1:30 to 4 pm. You may request a longer viewing session, but we ask that you leave the space and return to your viewing after lunch.

Please provide at least three possible dates that work best for you. Allow at least four weeks lead time for individual appointment requests and six weeks for classes.
