Join curators from Art of Europe and Musical Instruments for an evening of art and music of the 17th-century Low Countries. Celebrate the new Dutch and Flemish galleries and the recent acquisition of a prized musical instrument: a virginal made by Joannes Ruckers in Antwerp in 1620. After exploring the role of music making within taverns and private homes, hear the virginal come to life in a live performance in the galleries. Co-organized by Curators Circles: Musical Instruments and Swan Society.
This program is scheduled to be an in-person event, however details may be subject to change.
