Celebrate the great strides made to diversify the MFA’s collection with an artist talk by Bisa Butler, whose powerful quilt To God and Truth is a signature work in the upcoming exhibition “Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories” and its accompanying publication. Reimaged in vibrantly colored cloth from historic photographs, Butler’s life-size portraits of Black Americans invite dialogue between the past and present. Co-organized by Curators Circles: Art of the Americas, Black Arts and Artists, and Threads.
