Dr. Aaron de Souza, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Institute for Oriental and European Archaeology, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna, gives the Barbara W. Herman Memorial lecture about the complex relationships between cultural centers in the ancient world. Dr. de Souza presents a nuanced perspective of a diverse, interconnected Nile Valley that blurs the boundaries between “ancient Egypt” and “ancient Nubia.” Following the lecture, Lotus Society members are invited to an exclusive reception with Dr. de Souza to further discuss his work.

This program is scheduled to be an in-person event, however details may be subject to change.
