“Cy Twombly: Making Past Present” crosses traditional conservation boundaries, bringing together contemporary and ancient works across many media. Join us for a conversation with Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, the Whitney’s Melva Bucksbaum Associate Director for Conservation and Research, who first met Twombly in 1992 and maintained a personal relationship with him for 19 years. Come away with a sense of the artist himself, his engagement with time, as well as the importance of the artist's voice in contemporary art conservation.
This program is scheduled to be an in-person event, however details may be subject to change.
