Verity Platt is a professor of Classics and History of Art at Cornell University, where she also serves as director of the undergraduate Humanities Scholars Program. As cocurator of Cornell’s plaster cast collection, Verity has contributed to several exhibitions on classical art and reception, including “Wonder and Wakefulness: The Nature of Pliny the Elder” (2023). She joins the Laurel Society to discuss research on her upcoming book, From Seal Stones to Photography: A Prehistory of the Impression (2025).
