Join us to celebrate the culmination of this summer’s special project centering the pioneering contemporary artists Ekua Holmes and Elizabeth James-Perry. Each contributed a site-specific artwork to the MFA’s landscape in “Garden for Boston,” welcoming visitors with a vibrant bed of sunflowers and an installation of corn and shells, respectively, meditations on belonging, land sovereignty, and the nature of monuments. Meet both artists while enjoying community and conversation.
The event will be followed by a public program with both artists and Ann and Graham Gund Director Matthew Teitelbaum from 3–4 pm. In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be Sunday, September 26. A decision will be made the day prior to the event.
This program is scheduled to be an in-person event, however details may be subject to change.
Exclusively for members of Curators Circles: Art of the Americas and The Contemporaries
