Class Schedule
September 16, 2022—Hearth and Home: Fireplaces
Explore the galleries in search of fireplaces, ovens, and stoves in the Museum’s collections. Then create the bedrock for your own dollhouse—the hearth and chimney!
September 23, 2022—Hearth and Home: The Table
Take a closer look at dining sets, tables, and food found in paintings, sculptures, and furniture in the Museum’s collections. Then use colorful clay and wood pieces to design and sculpt miniature tables, chairs, food, and place settings for your dollhouse.
September 30, 2022—Hearth and Home: Family
Scenes of family and daily life have been depicted in artwork from ancient to modern times. Take a closer look at examples in the Museum’s collections, then use clay, paint, fabric and wood pieces to add friends, family members, and pets to your dollhouse.
October 14, 2022—Hearth and Home: Comfort
Homes provide spaces for comfort. Explore the galleries in search of paintings and sculptures that make you feel calm, comfortable, and happy. Then create the finishing touches to your dollhouse, adding details through furnishings and artistic elements that will make your space comfortable for the miniature family living there.
