Class Schedule
September 16, 2022—Our Colorful Lives: Exploring Color Mixing
Take a closer look at paintings on view in the Museum’s collections to discover how artists use color in their art and how different colors are made. Then create your own paint palette in the studio by mixing different color combinations together and using them to create a painting.
September 23, 2022—Our Colorful Lives: Seasons
Discover how artists use color as clues to set the scene and help the viewer figure out what season the painting takes place. Then create a mixed-media collage of the colors of the seasons.
September 30, 2022—Our Colorful Lives: Emotions
Did you know that artists sometimes use colors to show how someone is feeling? Take a closer look at paintings in the Museum’s collections, then create an abstract self-portrait using colors and shapes that represent you!
October 14, 2022—Our Colorful Lives: The Colors of Our World
Our planet looks very different depending on where you live! Ecosystems have different colors that suit the animals and the climate. Depending on where you live, your backyard might look very different. Let’s go explore mixed-media sculpture to represent a part of your world.
