Class tickets include general admission to the MFA for the student and one accompanying grown-up.

Instructor: Liam Jones and Yael Saiger

Class Schedule

March 9, 2023—Weaving

Textile art is not only beautiful but can also be used to tell stories. Take a look at examples from the Museum's collections then learn basic weaving skills and use colorful yarn and fabrics to weave your own story!

March 16, 2023—Mythological Figures

Explore the Museum in search of tales of brave and heroic individuals. Then depict the epic adventures of a character of your own using paint and mixed media.

March 23, 2023—Museum Architecture

Museums and galleries come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. Take a closer look at how the MFA’s collection is displayed while considering the architecture of the building and each of the galleries. Then design and build your own miniature museum gallery.

March 30, 2023—Statues and Sculptures

Discover what statues are and what they are made out of while exploring the galleries for some of the largest and smallest examples on view. Then create your own statuette using Model Magic and mixed media.
