Journey through the collection and join colleagues from the Art of Asia and Art of the Americas departments for a riveting look at three stories of travel, collecting, and cultural exchange over the last century, and how they shaped Bostonians’ experiences and understandings of Islamic arts and cultures. From the purchases of 19th-century world travelers to the prints made by a Pakistani artist visiting Boston just a few years ago, we will explore new ways to understand the interwoven histories of Islamic and American arts. Co-organized by Curators Circles: Art of the Americas and Art of South Asia and the Middle East.
