Take a trip to the site of Assos, a Greek city in modern-day Behramkale (Turkey), with Bonna Wescoat, Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Art History at Emory University, excavator of Assos, and author of The Temple of Athena at Assos (2012). During this virtual lecture Wescoat speaks about her experiences as an excavator at Assos and about the architectural significance of the Temple of Athena.

Following the virtual lecture on February 22, we welcome Laurel Society members to join us on Friday, April 1 for a tour and in-depth discussion of the new ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine art galleries with our curators. The tour will be preceded by a reception.

This program has a scheduled in-person component on April 1; however details may be subject to change.
