Discover the heart of art during February Vacation Week! All are invited for free activities exploring the connections between art, love, friendship, and care.

All ages and abilities are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required. See Visiting with Kids and Family for more information.

Drop-In Art Making

Stop by to create a unique button that shows off your love for art and the MFA using a variety of collage materials.

Mosaic Memento Boxes

Get inspired by color field and Abstract Expressionist paintings! Brush, drip, soak, and blend acrylic inks onto raw canvas and explore the creation of new colors and shapes. What will you make to showcase your love for art and creativity?

Drop-In Gallery Activity: Seeing and Feeling Emotions in Nature, Art, and Movement

Wednesday–Friday; no activity on Saturday

Take a break with a 15-minute immersive experience exploring emotions in art, the animal world, and in our own body language. Join an MFA educator in practicing gentle yoga poses and dance connected to feelings and emotions so you’re refreshed and ready to continue your visit. Fun for all ages and abilities!

Join us on a family-friendly tour to discover how artists have captured the themes of love, care, and friendship in their work. Tours are 30 minutes and fun for all ages.

Drop-In Gallery Activity: Exploring Compassion in Art and Ourselves

Join an MFA educator in the gallery for a closer look at Guanyin, Bodhisattva of Compassion. Make connections to compassion in our own lives through discussion, gentle yoga poses, and mindfulness exercises that help connect body and mind. This 30-minute activity is suitable for all bodies and fun for all ages. Benches are available.
