In partnership with the Adius Arts Initiative and KickBack Boston, we’re celebrating the final weeks of “Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson.” Explore the landmark exhibition and join us for a DJ set from Mez.Wav in Taste as we give flowers to the Roxbury artist who created the beloved sculpture Eternal Presence, affectionately known as the “Big Head,” on the grounds of the National Center of Afro-American Artists (NCAAA). At 7:30 pm, join us in the exhibition to learn more about Wilson from Edward Saywell, chair of Prints and Drawings; and Jordan Cromwell, interpretive planner.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase in Taste.

This event is included with general admission. About the Partners

The Adius Arts Initiative, founded by James Adius Pierre, is a platform for programs and events designed to intentionally highlight Black arts and culture. Pierre is an American-born Haitian son of Cambridge, with a long history of youth work in the Greater Boston area. He is dedicated to sharing his passion and resources to spread the joy of art.

KickBack Boston is a collective founded by a brother (Daniel) and sister (Rachel) that is deeply committed to creating good vibes through music experiences for Boston’s young, vibrant, and creative. In December 2015, the siblings threw a party, invited the city out, and branded it as KickBack—a name that captured the essence of the energy they wanted to bring to any event they curated. Since then, KickBack has created events that welcome like-spirited people to vibe, sip, and kick it.
