Art Making: Miniature Sculptures

Huntington Avenue Lawn (rain location: Druker Family Pavilion, Room 159)
Create a miniature subtractive sculpture inspired by Japanese netsuke! These small and intricately carved pieces often depict scenes from mythology, the natural world, folklore, and legends. What will you make?
Wellesley Aiko: Japanese Taiko Drumming

Taiko drumming has been a part of Japanese culture for centuries. Don’t miss two chances to see a performance by Wellesley Aiko, Wellesley College’s only Japanese drumming group and the only collegiate taiko group in the Boston area. The ensemble focuses on kumi-daiko, a specific form of taiko that originated in 1951 and is defined by energy, rhythm, and collaboration.
