Reyes staged a 1-hour performance of a theatrical history of drug use in the Americas. Teenage performers used techniques developed by Brazilian theatre practitioner Augusto Boal to engage the audience with issues that are often avoided or filtered through the perspectives of media, politicians, and corporations. As “spect-actors,” audience members helped shape the narrative as it was performed.
