Welcome Letter from Joy Kant

Patron Program Committee

My fellow Patron Program members,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the inaugural edition of the Patron Program newsletter, and I hope you enjoy the features in this first edition: an interview with MFA curator Ronni Baer about her experiences at the MFA; a travelogue from a fellow Patron recently returned from an MFA Travel tour to Cuba; and a snapshot of some of the projects and initiatives being funded through your Patron gifts this year. I, along with the rest of the Patron Program Committee, look forward to sharing this bi-annual newsletter with you in the months and years to come!

I would also like to take this opportunity to announce some of the exciting programming to be enjoyed by Patron members this fall. Be sure to save the date for our season kick-off event on Tuesday, September 29, followed by the opening reception celebrating Ronni Baer’s new show, "Class Distinctions: Dutch Painting in the Age of Rembrandt and Vermeer,” on Tuesday, October 6. The remainder of the 2015–16 season of Patron Program events will be announced in our new brochure this summer. Be sure to stay tuned!

Over the last week, you may have seen an e-mail asking you to participate in a short electronic survey on a range of issues relating to the Patron Program. We on the Committee constantly strive to improve the experience enjoyed by our Patrons, and I hope you will take a few moments to share your feedback and fill out the survey today.

On behalf of the Committee, I wish to close by thanking you for your steadfast support of the MFA this season. Last year, the Patron Program raised nearly $6.5 million in crucial unrestricted operating support for the Museum, and as we near the end of the MFA’s fiscal year this June, the dedication of our Patron members is more important than ever.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the Patron Program and the MFA. I’ll look forward to meeting you at a Patron event soon.

Yours,

Joy Kant
