Did you know that funds from the Patron Program make up 10 percent of the MFA’s annual operating budget? That’s $6.89 million each year in unrestricted funds for the MFA. Last year, Patron funds supported:
- More than 300 individual wall-mounted texts highlighting objects from the permanent collection
- Special programming offered to school groups for 55,000 students and teachers
- Artist’s Toolbox programs for more than 18,000 visitors
- The development of two new galleries: the Monet Gallery, with a daily average attendance of more than 1,000 people, and the Song Dynasty Gallery, where an innovative new display offers a contemplative atmosphere centered on the newly restored work Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion
