Class Schedule

October 21, 2022—The Royal Kingdom: Leadership

Throughout history, many different countries and nations have been ruled by royal families. Search the galleries for portraits of these family members, then create your own painting of a real or imaginary leader in the studio. What does leadership mean to you?

October 28, 2022—The Royal Kingdom: Knights

Royal leaders might officially be in charge of taking care of their country, but they often need help and protection from knights and soldiers. Uncover clues in paintings and sculptures to discover the role of knights and soldiers while also learning about family crests. Then create your own family crest in the studio using colors, symbols, shapes, and patterns unique to you!

November 4, 2022—The Royal Kingdom: Castles and Fortresses

Learn about the different types of castles and the parts of these magnificent buildings that provided safety in the royal kingdom. Then create your own castle structure using cardboard, paint, and decorations.

November 11, 2022—The Royal Kingdom: Court

Royal leaders often need the help and support from others. Uncover clues in paintings and sculptures to discover the different supporting roles in the royal kingdom and how important each might be to the leaders. Then create a scroll depicting a story that might be told in a royal court.
