Documentary directed by Elizabeth Rynecki (USA, 2018, 78 min.). Digital. English and Polish with English subtitles. Massachusetts premiere.
Growing up, director Elizabeth Rynecki’s home was decorated with paintings by her great-grandfather, Moshe Rynecki, that had been recovered after WWII. But after learning that those paintings are only a fraction of Rynecki’s surviving works, Elizabeth set out to find the rest. Spanning three decades and three generations, this compelling documentary is a deeply moving narrative of the richness of one man’s art, the devastation of war, and one woman’s unexpected path to healing.
Followed by a conversation with director Elizabeth Rynecki.
