As staff preparations ramp up over the summer, we will host a range of outdoor events on the MFA’s campus starting in September, including concerts and films in partnership with the Roxbury International Film Festival.
Please consider supporting the Museum, its art, and its programs with a gift to the MFA Fund.
Noted local trumpeter Chris Belluscio discusses the history, repertoire, and playing technique of the keyed bugle, a brass instrument popular in Europe and America from the early 1830s to the mid century. Belluscio performs on the MFA’s silver presentation instrument, made in Boston in 1854 by E. G. Wright, along with various instruments from his own collection. A number of other keyed bugles belonging to the MFA are on hand for discussion and comparison.
