A powerfully progressive synthesis of electronic sound and Afro-Caribbean language, ÌFÉ is a bold new project from Puerto Rico-based African American drummer/producer/singer Otura Mun. Mun is an Ifá priest, or Babalawo, in the Yoruba religion, and has been at the vanguard of the Puerto Rican music scene since his arrival there in the late 1990s, producing critically acclaimed albums and songs for many of the island’s most important musical voices.

“ÌFÉ fuses shamanic levels of spiritual depth with dancehall influences . . . The music has a certain otherworldly quality that’ll resonate with even the most secular ear . . . marrying the traditional influences with contemporary sounds to make something completely original.”—Zach Goldbaum, Noisey

Concert Opener: Hailing from Madagascar, singer-songwriter Niu Raza has performed with the likes of Nigerian record producer, singer-songwriter, and musician Don Jazzy, as well as Grammy Award–winning Hugh Masekela. Blending huge jazzy vocals with soul, African groove, a touch of Caribbean beats, and pop, Raza’s sound is full, mature, and alluring.
