The Dreamers’ Circus has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in Nordic world music. The Scandinavian trio approaches arrangement from the standpoint of innovation, inventing new forms from traditions of folk music in Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and the far reaches of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Their bold interpretation of these traditions has placed the group’s members—Nikolaj Busk and Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen of Denmark, and Ale Carr of Sweden—at the forefront of the Nordic folk and world music scene.
The ensemble has won five prestigious Danish Music Awards and toured throughout Europe and beyond, with performances in Japan and at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. The trio has collaborated with the Danish String Quartet, Copenhagen Philharmonic, and BBC Scottish Orchestra. This will be their North American premiere performance.
