Members of the MFA’s Teen Arts Council (TAC) and local community leaders deliver historical political speeches for the inaugural performance with Amalia Pica’s Now, Speak!, a cast-concrete lectern that prompts live performance. The first performance art piece acquired by the MFA (2013.1829), this interactive sculpture explores how our voices can activate art objects, create social space, and reinterpret history over time.

Museum purchase with funds donated anonymously. This version was cast in 2012 by Public Art Fund for exhibition and public use in City Hall Park, New York. This presentation is supported by the Museum Council Artist in Residency Program Fund. The Museum Council, MFA patrons aged 21-45, endowed this program to promote direct engagement with living artists and their art at the Museum.
