Wicked Queer: Boston’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival

Now in its 41st year, Wicked Queer continues to showcase bold, compelling films that reflect the depth of the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s festival takes place throughout Boston, with three feature films screening at the MFA. Starring Bowen Yang and Lily Gladstone, Andrew Ahn’s The Wedding Banquet is a heartfelt comedy about love, culture, and a green-card marriage plan gone awry that pays homage to Ang Lee’s classic 1993 film of the same name. Marcelo Caetano’s Baby is the story of a turbulent affair and survival on the streets. Sam Feder’s Heightened Scrutiny follows ACLU attorney Chase Strangio in a timely documentary on transgender rights and the legal battles shaping public discourse. This year’s MFA lineup blends humor, intimacy, and political urgency, celebrating the richness of queer storytelling.
