Ancient Nubia, a region in today’s southern Egypt and northern Sudan, was home to a series of dynamic civilizations. Featuring more than 400 objects drawn from the MFA’s vast collection of Nubian art—the largest and most important outside of Sudan—“Ancient Nubia Now” (October 13, 2019–January 20, 2020) shed light on these powerful African kingdoms and placed them in their rightful position among the great cultures of antiquity.
