Robert Pruitt Discusses His "Banner Project"

Robert Pruitt’s “Banner Project” explores African American identity through three portraits that juxtapose symbols of the past, present, and future. Go behind the making of this monumental installation with Pruitt as he discusses objects from the MFA collection that inspired him and how he represents “movement and time and space with something as static as a two-dimensional image.”

“The Banner Project: Robert Pruitt” is on view through December 13, 2020, in the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art.
