Arab American Heritage Month

Born in Boston, Lebanese American artist Khalil G. Gibran (1922–2008) studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and was a fixture of the South End’s mid-century artistic community. For his Bouquet (1963), Gibran hammered the steel lilies by hand and welded and weathered them with a blowtorch into a permanently downcast and withering position.
