Facilitated in the exhibition “Tender Loving Care,” this workshop uses prompts—words, images, and even ordinary objects—to inspire close looking and spark discussion connected to the exhibition themes of threads, thresholds, rest, vibrant matter, and adoration. These activities serve as models for engaging students with artworks in classroom settings. Works in the exhibition also serve as catalysts for you—and your students—to respond through sketching and writing. This is the first in a series of three participatory workshops that highlight contemporary artists and artistic practices on view at the MFA. Each in the series is accompanied by MFA Art Finders digital image sets developed for K–12 audiences through a lens of inclusion.
Spend the evening at the MFA and also reserve your ticket to the free public lecture that follows at 7 pm with exhibition artists Lucia Hierro, Gisela Charfauros McDaniel, and Joan Snyder.
