Directed by Sara Dolatabadi (Iran, France, and Switzerland, 2023, 83 min.). Persian with English subtitles.
Mahmoud Dowlatabadi is one of Iran’s most prolific novelists. In this poetic memoir, gracefully crafted by his daughter, filmmaker Sara Dolatabadi, the writer reflects on his life throughout the turbulent 20th century. Amid these reflections, the filmmaker layers in her own perceptions of her father, painting a portrait of a solitary man full of luminous ideas.
