Winner of the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, this thriller from French director Justine Triet follows a woman named Sandra (Sandra Hüller of Toni Erdmann) who lives a secluded life in the alps with her husband, Samuel, and their young son. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, Sandra becomes the main suspect in his murder. What follows is not just an investigation into the circumstances of Samuel’s death, but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of the couple’s conflicted relationship.
